How to create Butterfly Doodle Art
Materials
- White card stock
- Permanent Markers (I've used sharpies)
- Coloured fine liners (I've used Sharpies)
- Optional gel pens
- Optional acrylic paint pens
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- The butterfly pattern art pages
How to
Print out the butterfly design you wish to use on card stock.
Colour the sections in flat colours first.
Use fine liner in a darker shade of each colour to add detailed patterns to the background. You can use the pattern swatch sheet for ideas.
Now add pattern details to the butterfly wings. The patterns I've drawn are inspired by the real patterns you see on butterflies.
Continue adding colour and detail until you're satisfied with the result.
Use this same technique to decorate more butterfly pages.
For a more colourful 'pop' look, use swirly lines and add highlights with acrylic paint pens.
